 | Hello comrades, great pictures, great memories. I stayed in Herbornseelbach from 1981 until 1987 and I was a German company commander of 3./NschBtl SW 320 in Herbornseelbach from 1983 - 1987. We had a great time in Aartal-Barracks as well as in Camp Bellersdorf ! First we became partners and later friends. Thank you boys and girls, thank you America for bringing us freedom and democracy in 1945 and to help us to live in freedom during the Cold War. Do you remember the NWTI and the NSI inspections? Wow, hard times, but together we did it well! The results were outstanding. In Christmas time I often organized trips to the Nuremberger Christkindl Market for American Soldiers and their families. The world has changed since the Berlin Wall fell down in 1989 and since the German reunification in 1990. Best wishes to all comrades. United we stayed and stay. Nihil obstat! Lothar G. Kopp Major (of reserve since 1993) |

Have a blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
From Michael Bauer. 1967-1968 . I worked in the S3 section of the 557th. |
 | No I am not mistaken, I was assigned to take over the job of a Lt. As I said however, I made darn sure I did not stick aroud. The Job I was to take was the secure area that housed the classified materials, it had a room full of 4 drawer safes. I was to be one of the two man control that issued the stuff when it was needed. I have my orders right in front of me and as I said I was assigned to HHD 557 Arty Group. I even had concurrent travel for dependants and authority to ship Full JTR 8000 lbs . |
 | My father was stationed here sometime between '78 and '81, when he was injured and honorably discharged. He was an E-5, atomic demolition munition specialist. His name is Eric Norman Blom. It would mean a great deal to me if I could find some of the comrades he served with during one of the most important times in his life. When ever he tells stories, you can see how fond his memories are. |

 | Just a quick note that Panama City and Tennessee were neck in neck as far votes were concerned. In the end, Tennessee did beat out Panama City. There was also a consensus that the Fall 2012 was the best time for the event to take place. Based on this, we will have a Reunion in Tennessee during the Fall of 2012. At this time, we are searching for a venue in Tennessee. If any of you many have suggestions, please feel free to let us know. More updates will appear as we approach the Reunion... Darrin on Facebook or at darrin200367@hotmail.com |
 | Reunion 2012? based on info so far we have narrowed it down to 3 locations and 4 months Locations; Kansas City,Panama City and Somewhere in Tn (Menphis) / cabin setting, dates March, April, August or September 2012 Please pick a locations and month that you would prefer our executive committee will then make the decision based on the majority vote So up to now there have only been a handfull of people talking about the reunion, there are now 80 members to the Ground Zero group, perhaps, so we get a better understanding of who would want to meet in a year or year in a half it would be a good Idea for a survey. If you want to attend a reunion within the next year or year and a half place TBD please place your Name and number attending from your family . | "FarmerBud", I remember a CWO Ralph Parish passing through the line to pick up the security badges prior to entry into the exclusion area at Bellersdorf Lager. You had reddish cheeks which made me wonder if you had high blood pressure or if you were under a lot of stress. I also remember you to be a pleasant and friendly person (for an officer LOL). I don’t suspect that you remember many of the security personnel from that time as we were 11Bs and tended to rotate in and out of Vietnam. Not many “Lifers”, mostly draftees. You might remember: Sgt. Blanzy – Security Section - Bob Bissinett Marty Washburn (from New York) Rick Honsinger – Security Section – (from Texas) Greg & Shelley Robinson Jerry & Julie Crise (from California) Bill & Linda Godding (from Milwaukee, Wisconsin) LInda died in 2010 Bill & Jackie Herndon – Security Section – (from Ashdown, Arkansas) visited my wife and me in the United States in 1973 on their way to Korea where she was from. Sgt. Byars Sgt. Mercer – Security Section – Transferred in from the Marine Corps Ron (from St. Louis, MO)-(married Chris a German girl that use to work at the Taboo Club) Wayne George (no relation to me) The last I heard from him was when he was shipped to Vietnam. I didn’t find his name on the Vietnam Wall memorial, so that’s a good sign. Steve “the Pope” LeClurc (he hate it when we called him the Pope) John “Pat” & Ruth Ann “Toni” Horlamus (from West Bend, Wisconsin) “Stretch” Cunningham – Security Section – (from Milwaukee, Wisconsin) Russell “Russ” Conroy – Security Section – (fromWest Covina, California) Rick Alvarado – Security Section - “Buzz” Anderson – Secruity Section (Used to pal around with Rick Alvarado Powers – Security Section - Capt. Mills Sgt Colbaugh Serna Lt. Carr – Security Section – Capt. Applebaum Company Commander Bill & Linda Rosenbach? The Pettits Bill & Anita (Forgot the last name… God I’m getting old!!!) They lived in Oberndorf next door to my wife and I, the short time we lived there. There are so many more that I remember, but names have evaporated from my poor brain for the moment. Well I’ve rattled on enough. Hard to stop when the faces start popping into my mind. As I’ve said in an earlier post, “It was a GREAT tour of duty and a lot of good people. — Rex

 | Ronald Kennedy. I remember the name, but my poor aging mind will not permit me to remember your face. You live in Waukesha, that’s near Milwaukee, right? Then you probably kept in touch with Stretch Cunningham of Milwaukee, and also Bill & Linda Godding of Milwaukee. The last time we talked to Bill Godding was a couple of weeks after his wife Linda died in 2010. The Goddings kept in touch with Jerry and Julie Crise from California. I don’t know if you knew them or not. John “Pat” and Ruth Ann “Toni” Horlamus have visited with my wife and me many times in Missouri over the years since I left the military, and we have visited them on the farm in West Bend, WI. John moved away briefly with his second wife Dianne, but has returned to West Bend. Ruth Ann (Horlamus) Smith now lives in Random Lake, WI Bill & Jackie Herndon visited my wife and me in Missouri for a week in 1973. They were on their way to Bill’s new duty station in Korea. Jackie was originally from Korea. Bill mentioned that he wanted to retire in Korea because they could live like royalty on his military retirement there. I don’t know if any of this is usefull to you, but it’s good to talk at ya’ anyway. Hope you latch on to many of your 96th Ord. buddies. -Rex

 | I'm SSg David Henning,Team Chief ADM Kdo9. 80-86. I was going through the pics and if I run into bonnette and woods again, each will loose 5lbs off their backside for the one pic that they posted. If they think about it they'll know why too. That never would have happened with my team. |
 | I think rickb054 is mistaken. The only people in HHD that had 2 person material was the engineer ADM plt. He must have been assigned to 96th Ord. I was there 80-86 and had a GREAT time. They had to drag me kicking and screaming to leave:) |
